Annual Physical

Annual physicals are a one-on-one time with your doctor to thoroughly evaluate your health and determine if you’re at risk of developing a chronic condition. At Concierge Wellness Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, you can expect expanded in-house lab services, vision and hearing exams, advanced body fat measuring, and more during your routine exam. If you’re due for an annual physical, call our office today to visit with Christopher Choi, MD, today.
Annual physicals are often split into two: the Pre-Physical and the Complete Physical Exam.
What to expect at a Pre-Physical
We typically schedule these in the morning depending on the individual’s schedule.
1. Fasting Blood Draw
- 10 hours of fasting: no food or colored beverages (coffee, juice, soda, tea, etc.)
- Highly recommend drinking plenty of water
- Coffee, juice, water, and/or snacks are provided at the clinic after the blood draw
2. EKG
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Bras must be removed in order to access the chest for lead placement (covers will be provided)
- Do not apply any lotions, creams, or oils the morning of the appointment
- Chest hair must be shaved prior to the appointment
3. Ankle Brachial Index (Ankle Doppler Ultrasound). This is done to monitor the blood flow in both legs
- Wear comfortable clothing (i.e., shorts, leggings, sweats, t-shirts). For shoes, we recommend items easy to remove (i.e., flip-flops, sandals, slip-on shoes)
4. Full Body Composition Scan. For accurate results, patients are asked to remove clothing except under garments
The recommended undergarments for these scans are:
Women
- sports bras
- comfortable underwear
- biker shorts
- leggings
Men
- briefs
- boxer briefs
5. Spirometry. To test lung function.
6. Full Body Ultrasound Screening
7. Questionnaire
For the questionnaire, the patient will need to know their own medical history, prevcentative screening, and the dates of their:
- Last colonoscopy
- Last eye exam
- Last PAP smear
- Last mammogram
- Last bone scan
- Most recent immunizations
Complete Physical Exam
After completing all pre-physical testing, the patient will return for a comprehensive annual physical exam. During this visit, the physician will perform a thorough examination, review all laboratory and diagnostic test results, and work with the patient to develop a personalized health plan for the year ahead.
We recommend patients:
- Wear comfortable clothing.
- Prepare any questions or concerns to discuss with the physician.
Next/Following Appointments
Follow up blood work (depending on results), sick visits as needed, standard medication follow-ups, and more. The provider will discuss the details with the patient in-person.
